Malin Akerman's Latest Hair, Fashion, Makeup Style

Paramount Pictures hosted the “Get Schooled” conference and premiere in its lot in Los Angeles, California. Canadian actress and singer Malin Akerman attended. She looked stunning as she posed for the photographers.

Malin wore her makeup flawlessly and just right for her coloring. She brought out her eyes by adding mascara to her full lashes and lining her eyes in black. This showed off her beautiful blue eyes perfectly. She also wore a light pink lipstick that looked very good on her. Malin’s hair is long enough to reach her shoulders and she wears it in a layered cut. Her hair fell naturally to frame her face and her bangs were swept to either side of her forehead. She curled the ends of her hair and that gave her a nice, feathered look.
Malin wore a simple black and white outfit that was gorgeous on her. She wore a black pencil skirt that went to her knees and looked great. Her white tank top had white buttons and asymmetrical tiers that went along the front and sides, giving it a flowing and romantic look. Rather than wear a belt, Malin simply tucked her shirt in. The outfit showed off her great figure and was very flattering on her. She spruced her outfit up with a ring and bracelet; she would have looked great with a nice pendant but she looked good without one too. She wore a cute pair of black high heels to complete her outfit. She’s a great one to follow for style advice.

Rocktober Challenge - Week 1

Week 1 of the Rocktober Challenge is done. Woo hoo! I did 30+ minutes of physical activity every day. That is not something I ever thought I would say. I used to say, how do those people go to the gym 6-7 times a week. All I can do is 3. Well obviously that is not true. I went to the gym 6 of the 7 days and every day I did over the 30 minutes. It was very hard for me to get my activity time in on day 7. I worked some unexpected overtime and because of that I did not get to go to the gym. But I found a way to get in so physical activity and I am very proud of myself. I was doing leg lifts and heel touchers in my chair at work and I walked for about 15 minutes earlier in the day and broke a sweat.

So here is the breakdown:
10/1 - walked Annapolis Mall 2x (broke a sweat)
10/2 - elliptical, strength training, and abs
10/3 - on the dance floor til 2am and w5d2 of c25k program (2x in one day, WHAT?!)
10/4 - 30 min. elliptical and 10 min. treadmill
10/5 - w5d3 of c25k program
10/6 - elliptical, strength training, and abs
10/7 - 15 minute walk, leg exercises in the chair

I will admit, getting in the 30+ minutes a day is not easy. But it is great having others to be accountable to. If I have learned anything this week it is that I am stronger than I think I am and I need group support. So now I am on to week 2.

Brooke Taylor was one of many actors who attended the “A Smile For Every Child” gala. The gala was held at the Shangri-la Hotel in Santa Monica, California. Brooke dressed simply and looked great.
Brooke wore a black, tank top style sheath dress that stopped above her knees. The dress did not show off her curves; rather the dress forced anyone else to just guess as to what kind of figure Brooke had. It was a classic design and a very sexy one, since mystery is always sexy. The very end of the skirt was hemmed in a see-thru black material that gave a peek of her thighs. Brooke paired her dress with strappie high-heeled sandals that had silver accents and were extremely cute. She accessorized it perfectly with a silver ring and a golden “Y” necklace that hung low. The dress even had pockets, though with this style, they didn’t detract at all and stayed hidden, as they should.

Brooke wore her hair in a short cut. Her hair was bobbed and cut to the nape of her neck. Her bangs were cut short and swept across her forehead. The rest of her hair framed her face and the ends were curled inward. She wore a pink lipstick and lined her eyes in black, giving them a smoky look that was perfect for her. Brooke really knew how to take a simple black dress and glam it up well enough to look gorgeous. She also seems to understand that a woman doesn’t have to wear something revealing to be downright sexy.

The premiere of “The September Issue” was held in Los Angeles. Canadian actress Shenae Grimes attended. She posed for a few pictures and sparkled for the cameras.
Shenae wore a black, A-line dress that had tank style sleeves and went to just below her knees. Designs were drawn on the dress in black sequins, so you could only see them when the light hit the dress in a certain way. It certainly was a new take on “the little black dress” and it was a refreshing one. The dress kept everyone who saw it guessing as to the actual design and kept Shenae in the spotlight. She wore silver strappie booties that reflected the light from the red carpet so that it looked like they had red straps; they also tended to reflect the light from the cameras to look brighter than they really were. Shenae accented her dress with sparkling earrings and a ring. She carried a black clutch purse that matched her dress.

Shenae had her hair parted off center and swept back into a cute up-do. It brought out her cheekbones and drew attention to her beautiful face without being too severe. Shenae’s makeup style looked great. She lined her eyes in black and used black mascara to bring out her full lashes. She wore a dark grey eyeshadow that brought out her eyes with a smoky look and she topped it off with her eyeliner ending in a point on the outer corner of her eyes. She wore a dark pink lipstick and blush to complete her makeup. She looked bright and sassy.

Kate Beckinsale attended the premiere of “Whiteout”. The Los Angeles premiere of the movie was held in Westward, California at Mann Village Theater. Kate looked pretty good, though she could have gone with a different hairstyle.

Kate wore a floor length navy gown that was gorgeous on her. The strange thing about the gown was that there was extra material on the side. It stuck out on her hip like some kind of small sail and it really looked odd. She would have looked a lot better if the gown was just straight and sleek, rather than having an odd thing added that didn’t really need to be there. She wore open toe high heels in black that peeked out from under her gown every so often. She wore a gold cuff bracelet and a smaller gold bangle. She wore a necklace that was also gold and seemed to be a collection of small discs; it was strange, but pretty.
What Kate was thinking when she did her hair no one will ever know. Did she just not brush it? Her hair was parted in the middle. It was a lot longer in the front than the back and she had some curl in it. It looked like she had covered her fingers in gel and then raked them through her hair. Her side bangs were a lot longer than anything else was and she had them pulled forward while everything else just sort of hung there. The effect was an unkempt and messy looking style that did nothing for her but make her look sloppy. Her hairstyle even matched her dress in that it stuck out oddly on the same side as the extra material on the gown! Her makeup looked great at least. She wore a pink lipstick, light blue shadow, and lined her eyes in black, which helped to bring them out.

Rocktober Challenge!

So one of the girls on TN started the Rocktober Challenge and in my quest to be healthier I decided to join. So I am dedicating myself to do at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day in October. It is already day 3 and I have been doing it. This is more than just taking the steps to the office or parking in the back of the parking lot. This is actual physical activity.

Day 1 - Week 5 Day 1 of C25K

Day 2 - 10 min warmup on elliptical and strength training

Day 3 - dancing in the club (hey, I was sweating so it's working out)

I think about 25 people are doing this challenge, so we have each other to hold each person accountable. I think I have been needing this. I usually do all my working out alone, which can get boring and I don't think I push myself as much.

So I will be keeping a log of my daily activity and remember, I am also Scale free October. So I am hoping that at the end of the month when I finally step on the scale I will be pleasantly surprised. We shall see.

New York is home to the famous show, “Sex and the City.” The star that plays the shows beloved Samantha, Kim Cattrall, has recently been in New York filming for “Sex and the City 2.” Kim is going to look as great in the sequel as she did in the original show.

Kim wore her fair hair parted on the side. Her hair is cut in shoulder length layers and her bangs are a bit shorter; she had them swept to the side. She has a wonderful facial structure and her hairstyle brought that out beautifully. She wore pink lipstick, blue eyeshadow, and a little bit of blush to add some color to her cheeks; Kim knows how to do her makeup where she looks great without her makeup being the first thing you see, a mistake that many blondes make.
Kim wore a very interesting dress. The star wore a simple black dress that was low cut and ended just above the knee. The dress had tank top styled straps that crisscrossed in the back. The dress hugged her curves and showed them off while hiding anything she might want to be hidden – if she had anything to hide, that is. What made the dress interesting was the addition of oval cutouts just under her breasts. The cutouts didn’t reveal anything but added a bit of intrigue to the dress. She wore high heel sandals in beige, large gold hoop earrings, sunglasses, and carried a brown snakeskin designed clutch.
